NEW YORK STONE & SHINGLE

We transformed an existing run down yellow ranch house into a charming house that utilizes a local architectural language of stone and wood. For this environmentally responsible 5,000 square foot, four bedroom, and five and one half bath renovation, we kept the existing foundation, raised the ground floor ceiling to nine feet, and created an open light flooded floor plan.

The kitchen and family room share a generous wooden deck, which overlooks a bucolic pond and protected meadow. Tactile qualities of local stone and wood are used indoors and on the exterior to effectively tie the house to the country landscape.

Crisp detailing, high-end materials, and bountiful light make a comfortably welcoming setting for every season.
